“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Church isn’t a place for perfect people—it’s a place for real people. People who are tired. People who are healing. People who are growing.
Too often, we believe the lie that we have to clean ourselves up before coming to God. That we have to have it all together. That we need to fix our mess before stepping into His presence.
But Jesus never said, “Get it together and then come to Me. ”He said, “Come as you are.”
Bring your burden. Bring your questions. Bring your guilt, your doubt, your pain. He can handle it—and He’s already made a way for you to be fully loved, fully accepted, and fully restored.
Church is not a showroom—it’s a hospital for the hurting.
In Scripture, we see Jesus welcome sinners, sit with outcasts, and extend grace to the broken. He still does that today.
Why You Can Come to Jesus Just As You Are:
✅ His love isn’t based on your performance.
✅ His grace covers your past, present, and future.
✅ His power works best in weakness.
✅ His invitation is open to everyone—especially the weary.
You don’t have to be perfect to belong. You just have to be willing to come.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You that I don’t have to clean myself up to come to You. You meet me right where I am. Help me to lay down my pride, my guilt, and my fear—and receive the rest and grace You freely offer. Amen.
