Don’t Despise Small Beginnings

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” – Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

It’s easy to overlook the early stages. The quiet prayers. The simple acts of faith. The tiny steps forward that feel like they’re going unnoticed.

But in God’s Kingdom, nothing is wasted.

God celebrates the beginning—no matter how small it seems. That first prayer you whispered? It moved heaven. That first time you opened your Bible again? It mattered. That small act of kindness you offered? It planted a seed.

Every great work of God begins with a simple yes.

David was a shepherd before he became king. Ruth was gathering leftovers before she became part of Jesus’ lineage. Jesus Himself started His ministry after 30 years of quiet faithfulness.

What you see as small, God sees as significant.

Why Small Beginnings Matter:

✅ They teach us to depend on God, not ourselves.

✅ They develop character, humility, and trust.

✅ They allow God to build deep roots before public fruit.

When you’re faithful in the small, you’re being shaped for the big. God isn’t looking for flashy starts—He’s looking for surrendered hearts.

So keep showing up. Keep obeying. Keep trusting. The beginning may be small, but the impact will be eternal.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for reminding me that You rejoice in small beginnings. Help me stay faithful in what You’ve placed in my hands right now. I trust that You’re building something beautiful, even if I can’t see it all yet. Amen.
